The AMB8361 radio modem is a high performance wireless modem providing an easy to use reliable serial data communications link with a data rate of up to 57.6 kbps over-the-air. The modem operates in the ISM 868 MHz frequency band. Due to its robust IP65 rated aluminium enclosure, the modem can be used for many industrial data communications applications at an exceptionally competitive price. The two cable conduits are suitable for cables with a diameter of 4-8 mm.

Configuration of the RF modem parameters is realised via serial interface by making use of PC Software ‘ACC', supplied by Amber wireless. The Serial Link interface is fully programmable from 1.2 up to 115.2 Kbps. The modem achieves a RF range of up to 1 km at line of sight and up to 500 m indoors.

Data can be formed into packets and passed from one modem to another. If the received data packet contains any error, then the data packet will automatically be retransmitted. Both, size of data packets and number of retries are configurable. The modem supports point-to-point and point-to-multipoint network communication. It is compatible with the OEM radio modems AMB8350, AMB8355 or the low-cost OEM radio module AMB8420.

The modem is supplied in a tough IP65-rated aluminium enclosure, with wall mounting lugs.
