Surveying instruments like total stations facilitate accurate measurement in the fields of construction, building and archaeology. When data between a total station and a mobile personal computer need to be exchanged, a cable is hardly convenient when equipment is relocated frequently in the field. Unlike a wired data link, wireless connectivity is much more comfortable and extremely flexible. By using radio technology, soiled or worn out cables are a thing of the past.
